Description
Antibacterial toothpaste, coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). The plant Sphagnum (flat pink material) is used in the production of some toothpastes because of its anti bacterial effect. Abrasives constitute at least 50% of a typical toothpaste. These include aluminum hydroxide, calcium hydrogen phosphates, silicas and zeolites. Hydroxyapatite nanocrystals and calcium phosphate are included in some formulations for remineralization. Magnification: x1300 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
