Pancreatic acinar cell, transmission electron micrograph (TEM). Ultrastructure of pancreatic acinar cells showing a rich supply of membranes of rough endoplasmic reticulum. Secretory granules, or zymogen granules, contain many inactive digestive enzymes. These enzymes are released into the duodenum via the pancreatic duct. Magnification x5000 when printed 10cm wide.
