Description
Greenland glacier ice melt models based on four different global warming scenarios. The models show simulations of Greenland glacier ice melt between 2008 and 2300. The model at top left shows the present day. The other three models are based on Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPS), which are greenhouse gas concentration trajectories. Top right, then bottom left and bottom right the RCPs are: 2.6, 4.5, and 8.5. Each number represents the expected Watts per meter squared of heat energy trapped by the climate system. The Greenland Ice Sheet holds enough water to raise global sea levels by over seven meters.
