British Isles at night. Coloured image derived from satellite data showing the British Isles at night. Urban areas with a higher concentration of light emission can be detected, including London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast and Dublin. The image is a composite, using a mosaic of AVHRR and DMSP satellite images to create an artificially enhanced view of how the United Kingdom looks at night from orbit.
