Description
Mulberry Street. Early 20th-century photochrom (photographic lithograph) of residents and traders in Mulberry Street, New York, in around 1900. This street is part of Lower Manhattan, passing through the area known as Little Italy. It was a crowded area, with tall tenement buildings and trading stalls. A large proportion of the population were Italian immigrants. The view here (with 84 Mulberry Street at right) looks north towards the intersection with Canal Street from a point just north of Mulberry Bend. At centre right is the Banca Malzone. This photochrom is from the Detroit Publishing Company.
