Description
Knee in ACDC. X-ray of the knee of a patient with ACDC (Arterial calcification due to deficiency of CD73), showing calcification in the main artery (white, upper left) that supplies blood to the lower leg. This condition causes a calcium build-up in the arteries and joints below the waist. It is caused by a mutation in the NT5E gene that produces the enzyme CD73, causing it to form incorrectly and impair its correct functioning.
