Photograph of the southern portion of the waning Moon. The dark area at centre left is the Mare Nubium and the three craters which form a chain on its eastern edge are Ptolemaeus (top), Alphonsus (centre) and Arzachel (bottom). Just below and to the right of Ptolemaeus is Albategnius. The bright-rayed crater in the top left corner of the image is Copernicus. See back of print 01 for technical details.
