Description
Anti-skid road surface (pale area) approaching a pedestrian crossing. Anti-skid road surfaces are made from an aggregate that is resistant to smoothing, most often calcined bauxite, set in a resin, rather than bitumen. This type of road surface is most often used at pedestrian crossings, roundabouts and other areas where sharp breaking is needed more often than usual. Photographed in London, UK.
