Description
CST-100 crew capsule testing. Testing of a prototype of Boeing's future CST-100 spacecraft crew capsule as it descends attached to three large parachutes. This test took place at Delamar Dry Lake Bed near Alamo, Nevada, USA. This is the second parachute test that Boeing performed under its partnership with NASA's Commercial Crew Program (CCP). In 2011, NASA selected Boeing during Commercial Crew Development Round 2 (CCDev2). CCP is aimed at developing a commercial crew transportation system to allow resumption of space flights by the USA to the International Space Station (ISS). Photographed in May 2012.
