Description
CST-100 spacecraft testing. Testing of a Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne thruster for Boeing's CST-100 crew capsule spacecraft's OMAC (orbital maneuvering and attitude control) system. It is being tested in a vacuum chamber at NASA's White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA. CST-100 is part of NASA's Commercial Crew Program (CCP). In 2011, NASA selected Boeing during Commercial Crew Development Round 2 (CCDev2). CCP is aimed at developing a commercial crew transportation system to allow resumption of space flights by the USA to the International Space Station (ISS). Photographed in June 2012.
