The Bahamas, satellite image. North is at top. Deep ocean is dark blue, shallow areas are light blue. The Bahamas, an archipelago of 29 islands located in the northern Caribbean Sea, is several hundred kilometres across. The largest island, Andros, is at centre left. The island of Grand Bahama is north of Andros. The Great Bahama Bank (light blue) dominates this image. Cuba is across bottom and Florida, USA, is at top left. Image taken on 12th February 2009, by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument on NASA's Aqua satellite.
