Description
Early 16th century Saphea, a universal astrolabe. This astrolabe allowed the user's position to be calculated using a single projection from the sky in any latitude. Illustration from a manuscript dating from around 1500-1510 made in either Munich or Vienna and later moved to Nuremberg, Germany.
