Description
Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. This rich palaeontological area was established in December 2014 to protect fossils of such extinct species as American lions, ground sloths, camelops, several horse varieties, and the Columbian mammoth. In the 1962 'Big Dig', scientists dug long trenches, some of which are still visible, and found many large animal fossils. Photographed in June 2016. Photographed in June 2016.
