Hurricane Dorian aftermath. Aerial view over the devastation caused to Marsh Harbour, Abaco Islands, after Hurricane Dorian swept through the Bahamas on 1st September 2019. Hurricane Dorian was the most powerful tropical cyclone to ever hit the Bahamas, and is regarded as the worst natural disaster in the country's history. It struck the Abaco Islands on September 1st with maximum sustained winds of 185 mph (295 kmph) and went on to strike Grand Bahama with similar intensity, stalling just north of the territory with unrelenting winds for at least 24 hours. It caused catastrophic destruction and left at least 70,000 people homeless. Photographed by US Customs and Border Protection, on 5th September 2019.
