Description
Cumulus cloud. View of cloud tops, taken from an aeroplane window. These clouds are probably cumulus cloud as they have a heaped puffy appearance, usually found at 1500 metres (5000 feet) above the ground. Clouds are formed from water vapour which coalesces in the atmosphere. When the clouds cool sufficiently, rain falls. This area has a tropical climate, supporting tropical rainforest, and has a heavy rain fall. Photographed over Maui, Hawaii, USA.
