Description
Vision and sound neurology. Illustration of the areas of the brain activated by sound and vision. Neurologists studying the roots of human consciousness have discovered that when a person cannot hear, but instead sees something that should produce a sound, the auditory region of the brain still lights up. The lower rear area of the brain (pink) is responsible for vision. The auditory areas are in the upper areas of the temporal lobes (blue, red and green). The visual trigger is a drawing of a bird singing (upper right).
