Description
Planet chart. Chart showing the conjunctions of Earth with the planets, Sun and Moon. At far left and far right are images showing solar and lunar eclipses respectively. On the chart the Sun and Moon are shown as drawings. The planets are shown as symbols: Mercury is a circle with a cross and curve; Venus is a circle with a cross; Mars is a circle with an arrow; Jupiter as symbol like a '4'; Saturn as a symbol like an 'h'. Conjunctions are occasions when three astronomical bodies lie on a straight line. Conjunctions are important occasions in astrology. Eclipses are caused by the shadow of one body falling across another. Image by Comte de Gabius in the 17th century.
