Torn knee ligament. Arthroscope (endoscope) view of a recently-torn anterior cruciate ligament. This ligament binds the femur (thigh bone) to the tibia (shin bone). The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments prevent the knee from overstraightening or overbending.
