Description
Testing lung function. A woman breathing into a peak flow meter (background) has her lung function monitored by computer. A peak flow meter is used to assess the efficiency of the respiratory system in exhaling air. It may be used as an indicator of the effects of lung disorders such as asthma or bronchitis, where the airways may be constricted. Alternately it may be used as a measure of fitness.
