Tailless whip scorpion (Damon diadema). Close-up of a tailless whip scorpion (whip spider) showing its clawed pedipalps (bottom). Whip spiders (order Amblypygi) are arachnids that have long elongated forelimbs resembling whips, which are used for sensing prey. Once found prey is grasped using their highly modified pedipalps.
