Description
Adult Mayfly (order Ephemeroptera) perched `on a cluster of leaves. The Mayfly spends most of its life in the larval form (anywhere from several months to 2-3 years) living & feeding in an aquatic environment. The adult, however, lives on the wing only from a few hours to a few days. Its primary function is to reproduce. The name Mayfly is somewhat misleading since they can be found near bodies of water from April through October, in warm regions the year round.
