Stone-age cave paintings. Anthropomorphic artwork of a bison and a bird painted on the wall of a cave. These paintings are found in the Lascaux cave complex, France, and are estimated to date from the Palaeolithic era, around 17,300 years ago. Lascaux was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
