Description
Side view of a ruby tiger moth (Phragmatobia fuliginosa) resting on a branch in a garden habitat. The flight period is April to September with up to two generations each year. This species is a member of the Erebidae family and is found throughout Europe and the paleartic ecozone. The larvae feed on a range of herbaceous plants. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in August.
