Description
Cirrocumulus clouds. These clouds (abbrev. CCu), are normally seen at altitudes of 5000 to 6000 metres, and are composed largely of ice crystals. When CCu clouds form in lines, they are referred to as a 'Mackerel Sky'. Presence of CCu clouds often indicates the approach of a frontal system and changing weather.
