Description
Black-browed albatross (Diomedea melanophrys) nest with a chick. The nest is numbered to aid research into albatross breeding patterns. A single chick is raised every year by these albatrosses, in a cliff top nest where it is fed on regurgitated food. The chick is raised for about four months before it is ready to leave the nest. Photographed on Bird Island, South Georgia, southern Atlantic Ocean.
