Grey Wolf. Close-up of a solitary grey wolf (Canis lupus) in snow. A fully grown grey wolf has a body length of 100-140 cm and a body weight of 18-80 kg. It preys on large herbivores such as elk, deer, bison and mountain sheep. The grey wolf lives in packs of 5-15 individuals. It is found mainly in North America and Asia, however there are residual populations in Mexico, Europe and Scandinavia. The grey wolf is an endangered species in all American states except Alaska.
