Description
Front view of a gold spot moth (Plusia festucae) resting on a branch in a garden habitat. The flight period is June to September, sometimes with two generations each year. This species is a member of the Noctuidae family and is found throughout Europe and the paleartic ecozone. The larval foods are plants associated with damp habitats. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in August.
