Description
Top down view of a flounced rustic moth (Luperina testacea) resting on a branch in a garden habitat. The flight period is August and September with a single brood each year. This species is a member of the Noctuidae family and is found throughout the UK. The larvae feed underground on the base of grass stems and the roots. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in August.
