It is a combined optical/near-infrared survey that is used by cosmologists to probe the dynamics of the expansion of the universe and the growth of large scale structures such as galaxies in its early history. Photographed at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), Illinois, USA, on 17 November 2010.
