Description
Crude oil tanker being built in a dry-dock. Worker grinding the joint where two sections of a Suezmax cruse carrier have been welded together. Suezmax carriers are so-called as they are the maximum size of vessel able to navigate the Suez Canal. Crude oil carriers are among the largest tankers, with ultra-large crude carriers (ULCCs) reaching over 440,000 deadweight metric tons (DWT). Suezmax tankers are generally between 120,000 to 200,000 DWT. Photographed at Samsung Heavy Industries, Korea, the world's second largest shipyard.
