Description
Colin Garfield Fink (1881-1953), US electrochemist. Fink studied at Columbia University and obtained his doctorate at Leipzig in Germany. His first job was a research position with the General Electric Company. He spent four years (1917 to 1921) with the Chile Exploration Company. He then returned to Columbia to lead the Division of Electrochemistry until his retirement in 1950. His research included chromium plating, and electrodeposition. He was Electrochemical Society President (1917-18) and Secretary (1921-1947), being made an Honorary Member in 1946. He was awarded the Perkin Medal (1934) and Acheson Medal (1933).
