Description
Cholesterol granuloma, light micrograph. Cholesterol granulomas are rare, benign (non-cancerous) cysts that occur in the middle ear. Epithelioid cells and multinucleated giant cells (dark orange with purple nuclei) are present around prominent, cholesterol clefts (white), spaces from which cholesterol dissolved during the slide's processing. Magnification: x250 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue.
