Description
BodySearch X-ray surveillance. Male subject stands with his back towards a BodySearch scanner during X-ray surveillance. An operator (at left) examines the image obtained. In 1996 the BodySearch scanner designed by American Science & Engineering is one of the most advanced X-ray surveillance devices. It penetrates clothing to reveal soft objects missed by normal security detectors. It can detect bags of cocaine, plastic explosives, plexiglass knives, including guns and other metallic objects. Radiation is 1/7000th that of a normal X-ray; back and front views are obtained in under a minute. It may be used in airports, prisons, and in industry.
