Bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) learning to fly. Young bald eagle (eaglet) spreading its wings above its nest. Eaglets are strong enough to take their first flight away from the nest at about 12 weeks of age. Photographed on the Shell Bank Bayou, Maurepas Swamp Wildlife Management Area, near New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
