Description
Arctic transport, Baffin Island, Canada. Airboat travelling across melting sea ice, towing a boat. Airboats are flat bottomed boats propelled by a large above-water propeller. This type of vehicle is used when the arctic sea ice begins to melt, making passage too difficult for snowmobiles and normal boats. Airboats are used to transport tourists, explorers, freight and search and rescue operations.
