Description
Analogue robot insect Unibug 3.1 or Skitter. This robot is controlled by a device known as a nervous net (triangular circuitry, upper centre). It also possesses load, light and touch sensors which allow it to solve problems without any pre- programming. It does this by performing actions which cause it to reach an equilibrium with its environment. It is hoped that analogue robots like Unibug 3.1 could be used in the future for landmine clearance. This robot and its nervous net technology were designed by Mark Tilden of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico, USA.
