Description
A top down view of the lunar underwing (Omphaloscelis lunosa) resting on a branch in a garden habitat. The flight period is August to October with a single brood each year. This species is a member of the noctuidae family and is found throughout the UK with scattered distribution in Europe. The larval food plants are various grasses. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in September.
