Description
Lenticular cloud illuminated by the Sun. Lenticular clouds form when air moves over mountains, causing it to rise. This leads to condensation in the updraft, forming a cloud. In good conditions, the updrafts may cause the clouds to resemble a stack of plates. Such formations have been mistaken for flying saucers. Photographed from South Georgia Island.
