Description
Langoustine (Nephrops norvegicus), coloured X-ray. This crustacean is also known as the Norway lobster or Dublin Bay prawn. It feeds on other crustaceans and fish. It lives in shallow burrows in the sediment of off-shore waters from Iceland to Portugal and the Mediterranean Sea. It is caught using trawlers and creels (lobster traps) and eaten as scampi. It grows up to 24 centimetres long.
