Description
Shoulder. View from behind of the shoulder of a female skeleton. At far left is the upper arm bone or humerus. At it's top it forms a ball that fits into the socket in the shoulder blade, or scapula. The scapula is the flat, triangular bone situated over the back of the upper ribs. Above the scapula is the collar bone, or clavicle which links the shoulder to the spinal bones of the neck (at top right corner).
