Description
Uintatherium prehistoric mammal. Illustration of the extinct prehistoric mammal Uintatherium, a herbivorous browser that fed on vegetation. An example of an ungulate, Uintatherium lived during the Eocene, from 45 to 37 million years ago. It reached a body length of around 4 metres, and was similar to today's rhinoceroses. Its fossils are found in North America and China. At lower left is the creodont Sinopa, which was about the size of a fox. Creodonts were an order of predatory mammals. This scene is in what is now North America.
