Description
Titan, Cassini image. Titan is Saturn's largest moon. It has a thick atmosphere and lakes of liquid hydrocarbons at its poles. The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft was launched in 1997 to investigate Saturn, its rings and its moons. This image was taken by Cassini's wide-angle camera on the 22nd August 2005 at a distance of 159,000 kilometres from Titan.
