Description
Titan from space. Composite infrared satellite image of Saturn's largest moon Titan (5150 kilometres across), looking through its thick hazy atmosphere and showing the moon's surface. Here, the parallel dark dune-filled regions named Fensal (to the north) and Aztlan (to the south) can be seen. Several areas of the surface are shown in higher resolution than elsewhere. These 'subframes' were imaged during a closer approach. Imaged by the Visual and Infrared Mapping Spectrometer (VIMS) onboard NASA's Cassini spacecraft.
