A large region of cumulonimbus clouds are forming (bottom left to upper right). The Rio Madeira and Lago Acara rivers run from bottom right to centre. A smoke plume is also visible (bottom middle). The Earth's atmosphere can be seen as a layer of blue haze above the horizon, known as the Earth's limb.
