Description
MODEL RELEASED. Sunshine detector. Meteorologist cleaning a sunshine detector mounted on a tracker (2AP Tracker - Two Axis Tracker and Positioner). This tracking device points sensors at the Sun and moves to track the position of the Sun in the sky. It is designed for use in all weather conditions, and operates autonomously apart from maintenance checks. It can be used to track objects other than the Sun, but is most commonly used for measuring solar radiation levels. Other sensors, that record diffuse sunlight levels, are shielded from direct sunlight with shades (black, one seen above head). Photographed at SMHI, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, Norrkoping, Sweden.
