Description
Soviet missile test site. Gambit 3 satellite image of a N1 rocket at the Tyuratam missile test centre in the USSR, now the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Gambit 3 was a series of photoreconnaissance satellites launched between 1966 and 1984 to collect intelligence on the USSR and their allies. Capsules containing film were ejected from the satellite and sent back to earth for collection. Image obtained on the 19th September 1968.
