Description
Solar-powered radio. The solar panel strip (black, along the top of the radio) converts the energy of sunlight into electricity to power the radio. This means that batteries are not needed when it is sunny. The aerial (the metal rod running towards upper right) is used to detect radio waves. The radio must be tuned to the frequency of the desired radio broadcast. The information encoded in the radio waves is interpreted as sound waves emitted by the speaker (lower right), recreating the original broadcast.
