Description
Shoulder bones. Model of the anatomy of the shoulder, seen from the back (posterior). The shoulder is made up of the humerus or upper arm bone (right), the scapula (shoulder blade, centre) and the clavicle (collar bone, upper centre). The humerus is joined to the scapula by a ball & socket joint at the glenoid cavity. The pectoralis major muscle (red, below clavicle) allows arm movement across the chest.
