Description
Scanning electron micrograph of the spherical bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus (gram positive) clustered on agar. These bacteria are commonly found on healthy human skin & mucous membranes, such as the lining of the mouth. They may, however, cause boils, usually by entering through a hair follicle or break in the skin. They are also responsible for internal abscesses & any acute suppurative infection. They are commonly found in grapelike clusters. Mag: X 27,600 (at 10x8 size), X3945 (at 35mm size).
