Description
Scavengers on a carcass. Black-backed jackal (Canis mesomelas) and vultures (Gyps sp.) feeding on a blue wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) carcass. The black-backed jackal is a scavenger that inhabits the grasslands, plains and southwestern deserts of Africa. Vultures are scavenging birds that are found on every continent except Antarctica and Oceania. Photographed in Etosha National Park, Namibia.
